Govt opposes uproar in parliament, calls for apology for unruly behavior

Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Prahlad Joshi alleged the opposition Members of Parliament tried to break open the door and injured a woman marshal.

New Delhi: Taking the opposition to task for disrupting the monsoon session of parliament, the central government on Thursday asked opposition leaders to apologize for throwing a settlement on the chairman of the Rajya Sabha and to stand on tables just below where the president sits.

Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Prahlad Joshi said opposition MPs tried to open the door and injured a female marshal.

“Then a deputy came upon the table. Lawmakers seem proud of their actions. They even shot videos, which is not allowed. We were threatened that if we tried to pass a bill after the OBC bill, we would see something worse, ”Joshi said.

The Union Minister demanded “strict action” measures against lost MPs so that “such a thing never happens again”.

Extremely disappointed with the monsoon Parliament’s truncated session, the Center accused the opposition of planning to disrupt the session from day one.

Meanwhile, leaders of opposition parties staged a protest march against the central government on several issues, including Pegasus and allegations of abuse by their MPs in Rajya Sabha. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, who led the protest, said the voice of the people was “crushed” in the House.

The monsoon session of Parliament ended on Wednesday with the adjournment sine die of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha.
