Google calculates Data Recovery Tool in PlayStore, can allow users to move WhatsApp conversations from iPhone to Android

Google added the Data Recovery Tool app, as the name suggests, allows users to hold content from their old devices while setting up their new devices.

Data Recovery Tool allows users to transfer applications, photos, cable contacts or cloud backup while setting up the device.

As of now, the app version on PlayStore is 1.0.382048734, which can reportedly allow users to copy their WhatsApp conversations and history from iPhone to Android phone.

In the PlayStore, it notes that “the app helps to restore data from your old phone using a cable or cloud backup. The app is already installed on your Android device. ”

Now, according to an online report, the Data Recovery Tool can allow iPhone users to stream their WhatsApp conversations to a new Android device. The description in the PlayStore under What’s New reads, “Updated experience of restoring content to your device, using cable or cloud backup.”

The directions shared by 9to5Google include WhatsApp transfer conversations> Scan the QR code with your iPhone to unlock WhatsApp, then tap Start, Configure Conversations, and Keep Your iPhone Unlocked and WhatsApp Open.

The next step will require iPhone users to scan the QR code in the next step.

The following index reads, “Having trouble scanning? On your iPhone, open WhatsApp, and go to Settings> Conversations> Move conversations to Android. ”However, the report notes that these files were APKs and that Google may or may not remove the user feature.

When you get to the new step, Android’s Data Restore Tool will show you the QR code, which you will need to scan on your iPhone to launch it directly in the upcoming WhatsApp migration settings.

As described elsewhere in the app, those same settings can be accessed manually.

At the time of writing, the Data Recovery Tool had more than 1 billion installs, with 1.0.382048734 being the latest version. The app was publicly listed last week.

Data Recovery Tool is different from the Data Transfer Tool released on Google PlayStore in 2017, which was previously specified for Pixel calls. However, the new application has reportedly acquired images of the app’s data transfer tool list.

The upgrade comes just after Google upgraded its Android software with a new program called “Backup by Google One”. As per the report, Google One Backup simplifies existing services that will also be available for Android and iOS users.
