England captain Eoin Morgan will miss the last two One-Day Internationals in the ongoing series against India in Pune due to injury. And Sam Billings will be out of action for the second game of the series on Friday, with a decision on his availability in Sunday’s final match to be played in due course.

Jos Buttler will be England captain in the absence of Morgan and Liam Livingstone will start playing in the ODI.

Morgan will miss out after discovering a split webbing between his thumb and index finger at the opening of Tuesday’s series, an injury that required four stitches.

The captain walked the ball during training at MCA Stadium on Thursday after which he proved unfit.

Morgan said: “I had the hand re-dressed before the start of training today but it quickly became apparent that I found myself protecting the injury and getting into the wrong positions to catch the ball.

England will look to equalize the series and stay alive in the competition after losing their first ODI by 66 runs.
