Delhi: 4 family members die in an LPG cylinder blast

Delhi police officers said they were looking into the case but have prima facie ruled out any foul play.

On Wednesday morning, four members of a family died when a bottle of LPG (liquid petroleum gas) exploded inside their home in the Farsh Bazaar in east Delhi.

Atul Garg, director of the Delhi fire service, said it took nine firefighters about an hour to put out the fire caused by the blast.

“We transported five people to the hospital. Among them, four were declared dead. They died of asphyxiation. One of the family members suffered burns.

Firefighters identified the four dead as Munni Devi, 45, Naresh, 22, Om Prakash, 20, and Suman, 18. Officials said the survivor, Lal Chand, 29, suffered 25 percent burns.

Delhi police said they were investigating the case but at first, glance ruled out any foul play.
