Covid-19 Update: India has seen an increase in Covid cases in the first few days, with the country recording over 1000 infections in the last 24 hours. On Saturday, 1,150 new Covid-19 instances were discovered throughout the country, bringing the total number of active cases to 11,558.
According to data given by the Union Health Ministry, four fresh deaths brought India’s Covid death toll to 5,21,751.
According to the ministry, active cases account for 0.03 percent of total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate remains at 98.76 percent.
In the last 24 hours, there has been an increase of 192 cases in the active COVID-19 caseload. According to the ministry, the daily positivity rate was 0.31 percent and the weekly positivity rate was 0.27 percent.
The number of persons who have recovered from the sickness has risen to 4,25,08,788, with a case fatality rate of 1.21 percent.
The total number of doses provided in the country as part of the statewide COVID-19 vaccination effort has surpassed 186.51 crore.
Delhi
According to data released by the local health department, the national capital had the biggest spike in infections on Saturday, with a roughly 26 percent increase in the number of COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours and a positivity rate of 5.33 percent.
There were 461 new cases and two deaths in the city. It had 366 COVID-19 cases and zero deaths on Friday, with a positive rate of 3.95 percent.
According to the data, the city’s positivity rating improved by 25.95% in the last 24 hours. Despite the lower number of tests, the positive rate skyrocketed and surpassed 5% on Saturday.
The previous day, a total of 8,646 COVID-19 tests were performed, according to the advisory issued on Saturday. While Friday’s statement showed that 9,275 tests were conducted the day before.
