“After reviewing the latest information on the rapidly changing COVID environment, Microsoft has decided not to personally participate in CES 2022,” a company spokesman told Verge.
The company will attend the event almost immediately. The Consumer Technology Association had said it would not postpone the event or move on to more visible programs.
“CES will still take place January 5-8 in Las Vegas with strict security measures,” the Consumer Technology Association said in a statement to Axios.

Amazon and its smart home ring Ring have said they will not be literally at next month’s event due to the “rapidly changing and uncertain state of the Omicron variant” of coronavirus, a company spokesman told Reuters via email.
T-Mobile has announced that their team will not be leaving, and their official will not be delivering the keynote address at the event.
