If you have an iPhone you can measure your heart rate and breathing rate with the app, thanks to Google

Google Fit for iOS has interesting updates. The app is reported to be able to track and measure the user’s heart rate using the iPhone camera.

The user is required to place his finger on the rear cameras and apply a small amount of pressure to measure his heart rate. Users obviously do not need an active internet connection to make the feature work.

The Google Fit heart and breathing feature were first introduced on Pixel phones.

9to5Google was the first to report that iOS users would soon find a temperature and cache tracking feature in the Google Fit app.

The report says users will have to put their finger on the iPhone camera, turn on the flash so that the Google Fit app can measure their heart rate. Flash lighting is reported to increase accuracy.

Additionally, users will not even need an active internet connection to use this feature. It may take the app within 30 seconds to measure your heart rate when you place your finger on the rear camera.

A preview graph and BPM will appear in the app when you remove your finger after 30 seconds. You can delete details or save important information for future reference.

Google Fit for iOS has also received another exciting update that will help users track the amount of breath they breathe. In this feature, Google Fit will require you to face the front camera of your iPhone.

You will need to keep your phone in a stable position so that your head and upper body are visible and unobstructed. Once you have set your head according to the instructions, you will be guided by the app about the steps to follow next.

The 9to5 report reveals that when you expose your head and upper body, the app calculates your breathing rate from subtle chest movements.

Google has introduced features as Android-first only. Later, health and respiratory features were released on Pixel phones. Google Fit is yet to update its app page in Apple’s App Store.

According to reports, the Google Fit app last updated in November. Google will continue to add heart and breath features to iPhone users as well.

Although the features are very useful, Google has warned users while informing them that the results should not be used to diagnose health conditions, and are intended for therapeutic purposes.
