CBI will investigate- Case of the death of Mahant Narendra Giri: The CBI will soon resume the investigation into the death of Mahant Narendra Giri, president of Akhara Parishad. The Center on Thursday accepted the recommendation for a CBI investigation by the UP government. On Wednesday evening, the Yogi government recommended to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to investigate the case (CBI will investigate).

Previously, Prayagraj SSP had assembled an 18-member Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate the case. Chief Minister Adityanath, who visited Prayagraj to pay tribute to Mahant Narendra Giri, said on Tuesday that the issue would be resolved soon.

Mahant Narendra Giri was found dead Monday in a room in his monastery. Police say Giri committed suicide by hanging himself from a fan. Akhil Bharatiya Akhara Parishad President and Mahant of Shrimath Baghambari Gaddi Narendra Giri received a samadhi with full rituals on Wednesday.

Mahant Narendra Giri wrote in the alleged suicide note: “I commit suicide with great sadness. The responsibility for my death will rest with Anand Giri, Aadhya Prasad Tiwari and his son Sandeep Tiwari.

Sandeep Tiwari, the third accused in the suicide case, was placed in judicial custody for 14 days by the court. Earlier Wednesday, the court sent two other defendants – Anand Giri and Aadya Prasad Tiwari – into judicial detention for 14 days in the case.
