A statement issued by the BSF in Jammu said that BSF personnel deployed along the border killed a Pakistani smuggler and recovered 27 packets of heroin worth Rs 135 crore.

Jammu: While thwarting another big Pakistani conspiracy, the Border Security Force (BSF) shot dead a Pakistani smuggler at the Jammu border and recovered 27 packets of heroin worth Rs 135 crore from the smuggler. The incident took place in the early hours of Wednesday in the Hiranagar sector of Kathua district, Jammu.

A statement issued by the BSF in Jammu said BSF personnel deployed along the border foiled a major smuggling attempt by Pakistan and not only killed a Pakistani smuggler, but also recovered 27 packets of heroin.

In its statement, the BSF said that until Wednesday, troops deployed along the border saw movements near the international border. As soon as these smugglers from Pakistan entered the Indian border, Indian soldiers repeatedly warned them and eventually opened fire on them, killing one.

When BSF personnel searched the area on the Indo-Pakistan border, they found 27 packets of heroin. The value of this consignment of heroin recovered by BSF is estimated at around Rs 135 crore on the international market.

BSP said that such movements at the border are not possible without the support of our counterparts (Pakistan Rangers).
