Army chief General Naravane reached Jammu on Wednesday before Prime Minister Modi reached Nausera. The army chief of staff carried out an aerial survey of the LoC forward location in the Jammu and Rajouri sectors and provided an update on the security arrangements after reaching the outpost. The field commanders themselves briefed the army chief on the latest situation on the LoC. Apart from that, General Naravane reviewed the operational readiness of the soldiers stationed at the forward location.

According to the army, General Naravane reached the advanced location of Nausera and also met the Sikh Light Infantry (Sikh-Lai) soldiers and praised their bravery and dedication. Significantly, since taking the reins of the country, Prime Minister Modi has celebrated Diwali every year with soldiers. This time, she will celebrate Diwali with the soldiers stationed in Nausera. However, neither the government nor the military have given official information on this matter.
Suffice to say that two major clashes took place last month in the Poonch sector, near this Nausera sector of the LoC, during which nine (09) soldiers were martyred. However, it is not yet known where the terrorists involved in these clashes are located.
