Adani Group clarified on ‘Afghan Heroin’ seized

Adani Group- Heroin Seized at Mundra Port: The Adani Group, led by billionaire Gautam Adani, provided clarification regarding the seizure of a large amount of heroin in two containers at the DP Global Terminal at Mundra Port in Gujarat. This drug shipment was intercepted on September 16, 2021 in a joint operation by the Central Directorate of Tax Intelligence and Customs.

Group spokesman Adani said on Tuesday: “I would like to thank and congratulate the DRI and Customs teams for the illegal drugs and the arrest of the accused.” DRI and customs officials are reported to have confiscated around 3,000 kilograms of heroin worth $ 2 billion.

The law empowers relevant Indian government authorities such as customs and the DRI to open, examine and seize illegal cargo, the statement said. The spokesperson said: “Port operators across the country cannot control containers. Their role in managing the port is limited.”

The company further stated in the statement that we sincerely hope that this statement will put an end to the motivated, malicious and false propaganda being disseminated on social media against the Adani Group. APSEZ is a port operator providing services to shipping companies.
