IND Vs ENG 5th Test: The Manchester Test has been canceled!

Manchester Test Canceled: The 5th test between India and England has been canceled due to a further increase in the number of Covid-19 cases in the Indian team. Following ongoing conversations with the BCCI, the ECB has confirmed that the fifth test between England and India Men, which is due to start today at Emirates Old Trafford, will be canceled.

Due to fears of a further rise in the number of COVID cases inside the camp, India is unable to field a team and will lose the match instead. The England and Wales Cricket Council (ECB) has issued an official statement on the matter.

ECB’s Full Statement:

“Following ongoing conversations with the BCCI, the ECB can confirm that the fifth LV= Insurance Test between England and India Men due to start today at Emirates Old Trafford, will be canceled. 
Due to fears of a further increase in the number of COVID cases inside the camp, India is regrettably unable to field a team. 
We send our sincere apologies to fans and partners for this news, which we know will cause immense disappointment and inconvenience to many. 
Further information will be shared in due course.”

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) discussed this matter at length on Thursday and Friday and have decided to not start with the 5th Test match on Friday.
