ZTE could work on a 20GB RAM phone, Executive Executive Teases

ZTE may have plans to come up with a 20GB RAM phone in the future. While the Chinese company has not yet provided concrete details, one of its executives joked about the development online.

Companies including Asus and Lenovo have delivered phones with 18GB of RAM in the past. However, by introducing a 20GB RAM phone, ZTE could make competition more difficult for its South Asian smartphone vendors.

The company is also among the leading players working to deliver selfie camera calls that can be shown later in the year.

Lu Qian Hao, one of the directors at ZTE, mocked the launch of the company’s 20GB RAM phone on Weibo. The official also suggested that there may be calls with 1TB storage in the coming year.

While direct launch plans are yet to be revealed, the submissions held by ZTE management suggest that the company intends to enter the competition for the benefit of the first distributor and could bring its 20GB RAM phone in the future.

The phone can just be a model and not something designed for end customers.

In addition to this new development, ZTE is said to be one of the most important companies working on a well-displayed selfie cell phone. Its commercial model could be released later this year.

Asus launched the ROG Phone 5 Ultimate (Edition limited) in March with 18GB of RAM. Lenovo also followed in the footsteps of a Taiwanese company and introduced the Lenovo Legion Phone Duel 2 with 18GB of RAM.

In April, ZTE introduced the ZTE Axon 30 Ultra 5G and Axon 30 Pro 5G as its two smartphones with Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC. Those phones, however, had 16GB of RAM.
