WhatsApp’s has released the much-needed features for its users. The messaging app has been shown to work in response to iMessage-like emoji long ago, but WhatsApp has now finally made this feature legal.
Along with the emoji response, WhatsApp users can only transfer up to 2GB files to the messaging app. WhatsApp will also allow users to add 512 members to the WhatsApp group.
Meta chief executive Mark Zuckerberg announced for the first time on his Facebook account that an emoji response to WhatsApp would be sent to users.
The emoji response feature was available to rivals WhatsApp, Telecom and iMessage. In fact, some Meta-owned messaging forums also have an emoji response feature.
WhatsApp’s has been working on this feature for a very long time. Many times during beta testing, testers saw a feature in the app. WhatsApp has noted that this feature will be available in the latest version of the messaging app.
“We are excited to share that the emoji response is now available in the latest version of the app. The reaction is fun, fast, and reduces the crowds in groups as well. We will continue to improve ourselves by adding more conversations in the future, ”commented WhatsApp in a blog post.
Transfer files up to 2GB
WhatsApp also offers the opportunity to send files on WhatsApp up to 2GB in size at a time. Files will have encryption at the edge. Previous setup allowed users to transfer only 100MB at a time, which was not enough.
With the increased limit, transferring multiple videos and files together would no longer be a problem for users. However, WhatsApp recommends using WiFi for large files.
Messages noted on the blog, that it will display the counter while loading or downloading to let users know how long the transfer will take.
Gather up to 512 people in a group
WhatsApp also commented on a blog post that it will now allow users to include up to 512 people in a group. The messaging app currently allows people to add only 256 people to a group.
However, the changes will not be immediately available as WhatsApp has said it will release the feature slightly. “Building private, safe and secure communities is a task and we think this development chain will help individuals and groups to stay close,” notes WhatsApp.
