WhatsApp to let you share large files up to 2GB, here’s everything you need to know

WhatsApp plans to make some changes to its application. The company announced in a blog post that users will soon see a new Reactions feature, which will make it easier for users in the group to share ideas without sending too many messages.

All team managers will receive special power to delete a message if they find it inappropriate. WhatsApp will also soon support up to 32 people with voice calls.

While these are great, one of the great features that will come to the platform is the expansion of file sharing. Here’s what you need to know.

WhatsApp is set to increase file sharing size

The messaging app has confirmed that it will soon increase file sharing size to give users more comfort.

In a blog post, WhatsApp has revealed that users will soon be able to share up to 2GB of files, which will give some users great relief, as few people use this platform to share large files, photos, or videos.

Currently, the maximum file size of videos, voice messages, and photos is no more than 16MB, which is very low. Some popular messaging apps like Telegram allow you to share files up to 2GB in size. WhatsApp does not allow you to exchange up to 100MB documents in size.

When does it arrive on WhatsApp?

WhatsApp has confirmed to India Today Tech that a new file sharing limit will soon be available to users. It will first be released to beta testers and if the test goes well, the feature will be released in stable versions as well.

The forum has not yet confirmed the exact release date, but you can expect it to arrive in the coming months.

Can’t wait for this feature? Here is how to share great files on WhatsApp
Currently, WhatsApp users can share only 16MB files. However, there is a way to share large files as well.

The process is incorrect and you will need to use a third-party application for this. You will also need a good internet connection.

Now, all you have to do is install the Google Drive app on your phone, then upload files to it, after which you can share the link with anyone on WhatsApp.

This way, you’ll be able to share files, photos, or larger videos. If you are an Android user, you do not need to worry as all Android smartphones run Google applications.

Once you have opened the Google Drive app, press the “+” icon and say Upload. You can now upload the files you want. Once you have done that, simply click on the three-dot button and then click “Copy link,” after which you can attach it to any WhatsApp conversation.
