WhatsApp rolls out new calling interface for select Android users

WhatsApp has started rolling out a new interface for voice calls primarily. The messaging app has reportedly been running on a new interface since December 2021.

The interface is designed for iOS and the Android app. However, WhatsApp has now released a redesigned interface for Android beta testers. Update is only available to a few beta testers. It will be available to the remaining testers in the coming days.

According to a report by Wabetainfo, WhatsApp is not only changing the communication of callers to individual phones, but soon users will see a completely new design for group calls.

Screenshots show that when you make a group voice call, bring voice waves to all participants during the call. Wabetainfor reports that a new update is being made for Android beta testers today, but more optimization is scheduled for the coming weeks.

As of now, the new interface has not been detected in the iOS beta app, but tracker features say WhatsApp may be transferred to WhatsApp and in future updates.

The report added that the visual enhancement feature of voice calls has already been enabled in this beta, and the ability to use background image to make voice calls is also available in this beta update. However, users will not find the option to customize yet.

A report by Wabetainfo notes that WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.5.4 is marked as a compatible update, but other users may be able to use the same feature in the 2.22.5.3 update.

If you want to test a new feature, you will need to first sign up for the Google Play Beta system to gain access to WhatsApp Beta.

The Beta application can also download the APK from APKMirror. However, it is recommended that you do not download the beta version of WhatsApp on your main device, you can get a second regular beta testing device.
