The Rupee inches 1 paisa high closes at 74.19 compared to the US dollar

The Rupee took 1 paisa higher to pay for almost an apartment at 74.19 (temporarily) compared to the U.S. dollar on Monday between crude oil prices and a further trend in domestic currency.

In the foreign banking market, the rupee opened at $ 74.24 compared to its previous close of 74.20.
It was around 74.18 to 74.27 in the afternoon before the end of 74.19 against the greenback.

Meanwhile, the dollar index, which measures the greenback strength in the six-currency basket, fell 0.10 percent to 91.76.

Earlier in the domestic financial market, BSE Sensex finished with 189.45 points or 0.36 percent lower by 52,735.59, while the broad NSE Nifty dropped by 45.65 points or 0.29 percent to 15,814.70.
Brent futures, the global oil bench, improved by 0.07 percent to USD 76.23 per barrel.

Foreign institutional investors were market participants in major markets on Friday as they issued shares worth Rs 678.84 crore, as exchange data.
