BlackBerry phones may not return to the market. Texas company Onward Mobility, which took over the reins of the smartphone in August last year, had promised to return to the smartphone market with a 5G smartphone.
The smartphone was expected to come with a Qwerty keypad. However, many sources have confirmed that OnWard and Blackberry 5G phones will never see the light of day.
According to a CrackBerry report, OnwardMobility and their dream of a BlackBerry 5G keyboard are dead. Another Android police report has confirmed that the Onward Mobility license for using the Blackberry logo has recently been revoked.
The report said “BlackBerry is looking to distance itself from its days as a smartphone retailer after selling the remainder of its patent for $ 600 million earlier this month.”
The report comes a day after Onward Mobility posted a blog claiming to be bringing a 5G phone with a keypad on the market.
“Everyone is looking forward to more information after our last announcement, but 2021 has been a very challenging year to launch a new phone, not to mention the one with high expectations and the fact that we want to fix it.

In January 2022, Blackberry noted in a blog post that BlackBerry mobile phone assets will cease to operate from January i.e. today.
The company said BlackBerry 7.1 OS and earlier services, BlackBerry 10 software, BlackBerry PlayBook OS 2.1, and earlier versions will no longer be available after January 4, 2022.
Devices that use these legacy and software services through a network company or Wi-Fi connection Fi will no longer work, including data, phone calls, SMS and emergency numbers.
The company, however, noted that BlackBerry’s phones running on Android OS will continue to work. “Android devices will not be contacted by EOL for infrastructure services unless they receive a redirect email sent to a BlackBerry hosted email address, or are issued a Sim Enhanced Based License (ESBL) or Identity Based License (IBL),” the company said.
