Special: Vivo T1 with Snapdragon 695 SoC will cost less than Rs 20,000 in India

Vivo plans to launch a new ‘T’ series on the Indian market. The smartphone system has already been launched in China.

The first two devices in the series are the Vivo T1 and the Vivo T1X. At least the first one will be launched in India soon.

The Vivo T1 will be launched nationally with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 695 SoC and will cost less than Rs 20,000, India Today Tech has learned. This means that the phone will support 5G connectivity.

Interestingly, the Vivo T1 is sold with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G processor in China but the Indian variant will pack the Snapdragon 695 SoC. We’ll have to wait and see if Vivo fixes some phone details or not.

There is no word on when the Vivo T1 will launch in India or how many phones the series could have.

In China, the Vivo T1 has a 6.67 inch full HD + display (1,080×2,400 pixels) with an aspect ratio of 20: 9, a refresh rate of up to 120Hz, and a touch rate of up to 240Hz.

The phone has a triple rear camera system that includes a 64-megapixel main sensor, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide sensor, and a large 2-megapixel sensor. On the front, it has a 16-megapixel selfie camera.

The phone packs a 5,000mAh battery with 44W fast charging support. There can be two configurations – 8GB RAM with 128GB storage and 8GB RAM with 256GB of storage.

This series will focus on performance smartphones designed for internet users. Vivo continues to have a strong presence in the offline market but the online segment is dominated by Xiaomi, Realme and others.

There is a possibility that the T series will replace the existing Y-line in India. Vivo’s often introduces its budget smartphones as part of the Y series. The V series is centered and the X series offers advanced phones.

This is not the first time Vivo’s has tried to target the Indian internet smartphone market.

In 2019, it launched the Z series which includes the Vivo Z1 Pro and Z1X – both of which claim to offer good sports performance on a tight budget. However, the series was terminated later.
