Sony’s Gaming Division to Buy ‘God of War’ Manufacturer of Valkyrie Entertainment

Sony’s sports ministry said on Friday it had agreed to buy “God of War” developer Valkyrie Entertainment for an undisclosed fee, as it sought to add more muscle to its PlayStation Studios.

The deal marks the fifth acquisition of Sony’s Interactive Entertainment this year, following its acquisition of Nixxes Software, the “Returnal” Housemarque developer, Bluepoint Games, and Firesprite.

People turned to video games during the closing ceremony last year, creating a boom that will continue to slow down despite school openings and the COVID-19 limits being reduced.

Seattle-based Valkyrie, which is making other famous titles such as “Twisted Metal” and “inFAMOUS” and working with the “Forza Motorsport” franchise, will continue to be run by its current management team.

Hermen Hulst, head of PlayStation Studios, said on Twitter Valkyrie would make a “significant contribution” to the league’s franchises.

The system requirements for God of War PC were recently announced by Santa Monica Studio. The detailed division of the program requirements has five different settings, allowing fans of the RPG game to play it without having to spend a lot of money to upgrade their PC.

Additionally, the Sony-owned studio also released a trailer featuring new PC features, including graphics and enhanced effects. God of War will be launched on PC on January 14th.
