The OnePlus Nord 2 5G was unveiled on Thursday as the latest model in the company’s Nord series. Compared to last year’s OnePlus Nord which comes with quad rear cameras and two dual selfie cameras, the OnePlus Nord 2 5G has three rear cameras and a hole display with a single camera selfie.
The new smartphone, however, has a series of enhancements over the previous one. These include a larger main camera, a larger battery, and faster charging.
The OnePlus Nord 2 5G is also the company’s first phone to come with MediaTek SoC. In addition to the Nord 2 5G, the Chinese company has introduced the OnePlus Buds Pro as its new wireless headset (TWS).
Price of OnePlus Nord 2 5G in India, availability details
The price of OnePlus Nord 2 5G in India is set at Rs. 27,999 base 6GB RAM + 128GB base storage.
The phone has an 8GB + 128GB option priced at Rs. 29,999 and top model 12GB RAM + 256GB at Rs. 34,999. It comes in the colors of Blue Haze, Gray Sierra, and Green Wood (special in India).
In terms of its availability, the OnePlus Nord 2 5G will be sold before arriving in India via Amazon and OnePlus.in from July 26.
It will be limited to Amazon Prime members by Amazon and OnePlus Red Cable Club members through OnePlus.in. offline site and company channels.
However, open sales for the OnePlus Nord 2 5G will start from July 28 via Amazon, OnePlus.in, OnePlus Experience Stores, and store partners including Vijay Sales.
The launch of the OnePlus Nord 2 5G offer includes an instant 10% discount on HDFC Bank debts and credit cards and EMI transactions with an additional discount of Rs. 1,000 instead of the old smartphone.
The phone will also be included for three months of Spotify Premium subscription for selected customers.
Members of the Red Cable Club, on the other hand, will be able to enjoy benefits including Amazon Prime, Uber Executive, Spotify Premium access to Red Cable Pro programs.
Apart from Nord 2, the OnePlus Buds Pro will be available at a price of EUR 149 (approximately Rs. 13,100).
The earbuds will be available in Glossy White and Matte Black colors and will go on sale in Europe from August 25. Prices and availability of OnePlus Buds Pro are yet to be revealed.
Details of OnePlus Nord 2 5G
The dual-SIM (Nano) OnePlus Nord 2 5G runs on Android 11 with OxygenOS 11.3 and above. The custom leather is apparently based on Oppo’s Color 11.3, due to the recent merger between OnePlus and Oppo.
The phone features a 6.43-inch full-HD + (1,080×2,400 pixels) Fluid AMOLED display with 20: 9 factor ratio and 90Hz refresh rate.
Under the hood, there is an octa-core MediaTek Dimension 1200-AI SoC, integrated up to 12GB of LPDDR4x RAM. There is a triple rear camera setting that features a 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 main sensor with f / 1.88 lens and optical image stabilization (OIS).
The camera setup includes a second 8-megapixel sensor with a wide f / 2.25 lens with a viewing (FoV) view of 119.7 degrees and paired with electronic image stabilization (EIS).
A 2-megapixel monochrome sensor is available on the back, as well as an f / 2.5 lens.
OnePlus has provided 4K video recording with 30fps frame rate on Nord 2 5G.
There are also pre-installed video-focused functions such as Super Slow Motion video recording at 1080p at 120fps, Time-Lapse, Video editor.
There are also related features including Nightscape Ultra, AI Photo Enhancement, AI Video Enhancement, UltraShot HDR, Portrait Mode, Dual Video, and Pro Mode.
For selfie and video chat, the OnePlus Nord 2’s 5G features a single sensor, a 32-megapixel Sony IMX615 camera sensor on the front, with an f / 2.45 lens. The front-facing camera is available with EIS support.
The OnePlus Nord 2’s 5G comes with 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. Connection options include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth v5.2, GPS / A-GPS / NavIC, NFC, and USB Type-C port.
The sensors on the board include an accelerometer, ambient light, gyroscope, and proximity sensor. The phone comes with a fingerprint sensor inside.
OnePlus provided two stereo speakers for Nord 2 5G. There is also sound canceling on board.
OnePlus Nord 2’s 5G packs a dual 4,500mAh dual battery that supports the Warp Charge 65 (supported charger box). Money management technology is said to charge the battery from 0 to 100 percent in just 30 minutes. Besides, the phone measures 158.9×73.2×8.25mm and weighs 189 grams.
Details of OnePlus Buds Pro
The OnePlus Buds Pro is designed as TWS premium earbuds from the OnePlus house. The earbuds come with 11mm powerful drivers and deliver a low latency rate like 94 milliseconds (when using Pro Gaming mode).
OnePlus has provided integrated audio cancellation (ANC) and three different modes, namely Extreme, Faint, and Smart.
Extreme mode is designed to offer audio canceling up to 40dB, while Faint mode is intended for 25dB audio canceling.
In contrast, Smart mode is available to automatically respond to the surrounding environment to adjust and correct ambient sounds.
There are three microphone settings and a custom audio reduction algorithm to filter out unwanted noise.
