Microsoft founder Bill Gates says another epidemic is coming in the next 20 years

Back in 2014, Microsoft founder warned of a pandemic and by 2020 the world would be hit by COVID-19, which still affects people’s lives.

Gates now says that the world could see another plague in the next 20 years. The founder of Microsoft made the remarks during a special interview on CNBC-TV18 and called on world leaders to be prepared.

“People are moving so much, we are invading the natural environment, there is a good chance that in the next 20 years we will have another epidemic.

We need that right so that each country can stop this outbreak before it dies or at least reduces the deaths as the leading countries do, “Gates said in a statement.

The philanthropist also states that “people want to forget the epidemic. Although we have some concerns about the variety, it is possible that the worst is yet to come.

There are problems in Ukraine and many other challenges in the world, so we must commit ourselves to investing heavily in international organizations and research and development of new tools because we will not continue another 100 years before the epidemic. “

As a precautionary measure, the millionaire plans to establish a new organization, the Global Epidemic Response Mobilization (GERM) team, run by the World Health Organization (WHO).

Gates also said there should be a team accountable to the community. He estimates that $ 1 billion in government funding will be needed to pay for “GERM 3,000 salaries, equipment, travel, and other expenses”.

“Billions of dollars here is a small price to own that group. The team can do a good job even if there is no epidemic. A lot of people thought the WHO had something like that, ”said Gates.

He recently published his book ‘How to Prevent the Next Epidemic’. Gates said the reason for the letter was that people “said yes to being prepared for the epidemic”. “This should be a priority. The team will work with all countries to conduct the tests, ”said Gates.

During another recent interview with the Financial Times, Gates said “we have never seen anything worse.” Microsoft co-founder and philanthropist said he did not want to be a “word of disaster and dignity” but the risk of a more aggressive alternative is “more than 5 percent”.

“We are still at risk of having this epidemic produce alternatives that can be highly contagious and extremely deadly,” Gates added.

The millionaire also warned that long-term vaccine prevention measures are urgently needed to deal with the upcoming epidemic.
