For the first time, 3 UFC fighters receive Bitcoin bonuses worth about Rs 45 lakh at Crypto.com

Crypto.com has presented its first set of bonuses to UFC fighters at UFC 273 held this Saturday. Announced last week, “Fan Bonus of the Night” went live for the first time at the event and saw Khamzat Chimaev, Alexander Volkanovski, and Petr Yan become the first three soldiers to receive Crypto.com pay.

In context, Crypto.com, formed an organization with the Ultimate Fighting Champion or UFC in July last year, making the platform the first partner of the official UFC cryptocurrency platform in an effort to establish new ways to monetize UFC fighters.

Building on that, Crypto.com announced new bitcoin bonuses for UFC fighters last week.

The new category is called the “Night Fans Bonus” and, as the name suggests, will be determined by fans after each UFC Pay-Per-View event.

According to a company statement, Pay-Per-View events will be followed by fan voting worldwide. Based on these votes, three bitcoin bonuses will be awarded to the top three fighters at the event.

Crypto.com states that bitcoin payments will be $ 30,000 (or approximately Rs 22.75 lakh) in the first place, $ 20,000 (about Rs 15 lakh) in the second place, and US $ 10,000 (or about Rs 7.5 lakh) in third place. Bonuses will be paid in bitcoin (BTC) based on the exchange rate of US dollars.

Voting for the Night Fans Bonus will be done at Crypto.com/FanBonus and will be open to all users around the world. Each fan will receive three votes per Pay-Per-View and will be able to vote for two fighters during each battle.

Voting time will start at the beginning of each Pay-Per-View and will end one hour after the event is completed.

Note that the Night Fans Bonus will not be the only bonus for UFC fighters. The new UFC program and Crypto.com will be in addition to the Fight of the Night and Performance bonuses given to UFC athletes by UFC President Dana White after each event.

The move, however, is a major boost for UFC fighters that will help them increase their salaries in an unprecedented way. With all Fan Bonus of the Night funds going to be carried by Crypto.com, it is clear that the partnership between the cryptocurrency platform and the UFC, which aims to increase the cash flow of the fighters, is bearing fruit.

This, however, is not the only Crypto.com collaboration in the sports world. The company is associated with almost every major sporting event, most recently including the FIFA World Cup 2022 which will be held in Qatar in November and December this year. Other such deals surpass the NBA, NHL, and F1.
