Facebook adds end-to-end video encryption, voice calls, makes changes to the message feature disappear

Facebook on Friday announced that it has released the latest encryption for voice and video calls to Messenger. Some Facebook apps WhatsApp and Messenger already have end-to-end encryption in messages.

End-to-end encryption adds an extra layer of security to users’ private texts and now even calls. Hidden end-to-end calls or chats can only be accessed by sender and recipient.

Even Facebook or WhatsApp can’t access those chats. In line with this, Facebook is also updating its missing message feature.

Announcing this feature, Facebook said on its blog, “Since 2016, we have provided an opportunity to protect your individual text conversations with encryption.

Last year, we saw an increase in the use of audio and video calling with over 150 million video calls per day on Messenger.

We are now introducing calls in this chat mode, so you can protect your audio and video calls with this same technology if you choose. “

End encryption to keep your personal conversations safe from hackers and cyber users. It is not possible to access the encrypted chat and even Facebook can’t do it.

Social media have noted that messages and calls in encrypted encrypted conversations are protected from where they leave the sender item until they reach the recipient’s device.

Facebook is also planning to bring an end to encryption for its photo sharing app, Instagram. Still, that can come in handy.

“We will also launch a limited trial with adults in some countries that allow them to choose to log in to the end-to-end messages and request individual conversations on Instagram.

Similar to how Messenger works today, you need to have an existing conversation or sequence to start an encrypted DM.

As always, you can block someone you don’t want to talk to or tell us something if it doesn’t seem right, ”the app said.

In addition to this, Facebook has begun to test the encryption of end-to-end group chats, voice and video group calls in the coming weeks.

Facebook is also adding new updates to the missing messaging feature.

The company has now added a timer to the missing messages that can allow people in the chat to select a time period before all new messages disappear, from a few seconds to 24 minutes.
