CESL expands to 2.3 electric wheels on World Environment Day

The state-owned CESL on Saturday announced that it would partner with Goa and Kerala to purchase more than 30,000 dual-trim electric and three-wheelers. Convergence Energy Services Ltd (CESL) has formed a significant partnership on World Environment Day in an effort to continue exporting electric vehicles to the country, the company said in a statement.

This is the first to enter the 2W and 3W parts of the country, with solutions specially designed to deliver affordable financial solutions to consumers. Under the agreements, CESL will also invest in the establishment of an electric vehicle charging infrastructure and monitor the use of equipment. This customer-focused approach is designed to deliver better usability and better accessibility.

Nilesh Cabral, Minister of Energy, Environment, New and New Energy, Goa Government, said, The availability of two-wheeled EVs and associated infrastructure could increase demand and popularity, especially in a province like Goa. In addition, CESL has entered into a strategic partnership with Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), TVS Motor Company, JBM Renewables Pvt Ltd., and Fortum India.

Under these agreements, CESL and the private sector will jointly facilitate the expansion and adoption of the EV environment. This will include the establishment of a public charging infrastructure, better adoption of charging technology, exploration of best practices and business models as well as potential customer segments to increase demand. These agreements will include the construction of a highway and charging Point Operators. Park availability and customer charging in all EV components will also be considered as part of the project.
