Blue Origin Has No Security Problems, Says US Aviation Regulator After Investigation

The US Federal Aviation Administration said on Friday it had not received any security concerns after investigating allegations made against the Blue Origin aviation program.

The FAA said in September it would review security concerns raised by former Blue Origin employees. The FAA said on Friday it was closing its investigation after finding that “there were no security issues” and was not taking action against astronaut Jeff Bezos.

Alexandra Abrams, former head of Blue Origin Employee Communications, along with 20 other unnamed Blue Origin employees and former employees, said in their article “they have seen a decision-making pattern that often prioritizes execution and reduced costs over appropriate resources to ensure. Quality.”

A spokesman for Blue Origin did not comment immediately on Friday but said in September Abrams “was fired for a reason two years ago after being repeatedly warned about issues affecting export control laws.”

Abrams told CBS News, which first reported the allegations, he had never received any warnings about export control issues.

In July, Bezos flew about 66.5 kilometers (107 km) over the Texas desert with a car that launched New Shepard in an underground plane.

Blue Origin said in September it stood “in our safety record and believes New Shepard is the safest space shuttle ever designed or built.”

The article states that the 2018 team at Blue Origin “wrote more than 1,000 problems reports related to Blue Origin rocket engines, which had never been resolved.”
