Apple Podcasts Premium Subscription, Podcast Channels Now Live: Everything You Need to Know

Apple Podcasts premium subscriptions and Podcast channels have now been released for all creators.

The Apple Podcasts subscription feature will enable them to use paid subscriptions for shows and channels or free shows with additional subscriber episodes.

The freemium model can also include other benefits, such as random images, archives, and so on.

These features were announced in April and releases are expected to begin in the same month.

However, that has been delayed due to creators having problems with uploaded shows.

Apple has sent emails to creators earlier confirming that Apple Podcasts and Podcast channels will be released on June 15.

The price of the subscription will be determined by the creators and they can choose between an annual or monthly payment.

Creators can decide whether they want to offer a free model for free, a freemium model that allows users to listen for free and offer additional benefits for a fee.

Podcast creators can also choose a paid model that will require subscribers to pay for content listening.

Creators will have to sign up for the Apple Podcasters Program to get the tools needed to manage premium subscriptions and cost Rs. 1,799 per year in India and $ 19.99 in the US.

Podcast creators can register through the Apple Podcasts Connect website.

There are no other requirements such as having a low subscription rate, so anyone can start using these new features.

Creators can decide on a payment for their content, a piece of it going to Apple.

They can decide if they want to offer sample episodes or free trial of subscribers to make a better purchase decision.

Along with subscriptions, Apple Podcasts also get channels, with both paid and free options.

With channels, podcast creators can collect their content with a unique logo, artwork, and description.

With Apple Podcasts subscriptions, podcast creators earn 70 percent of the subscription price for each payment cycle, excluding active tax.

After a subscriber has accumulated one year of paid service, total revenue increases to 85 percent of the subscription fee, excluding applicable tax.

Any revenue for the podcast – including any ads – will be fully earned by the creator.
