A civil court in Mumbai has reportedly ordered a temporary restriction on access to the online game “Selmon Bhai”, which is said to be based on the hit-and-run case involving Bollywood actor Salman Khan.
New Delhi: Bollywood actor Salman Khan took the civil court in Mumbai last month against the developers of the online video game “Selmon Bhai”. The “Tiger 3” actor reportedly claimed that the name and images displayed in the game appeared to be his cartoonish version. He further allegedly claimed in court that the name of the game “Selmon Bhai” is phonetically similar to “Salman Bhai”, a name given by fans of the actor.
Now, according to a PTI report, a civil court in Mumbai has ordered a temporary restriction on access to the online game “Selmon Bhai”, which is believed to be based on the hit and run involving Bollywood actor Salman Khan. The report further added that civil court judge KM Jaiswal issued the order on Monday and a copy was made available on Tuesday.
The PTI report said, “The court prevented the creators of the game, Parody Studios Pvt Ltd and its directors, from broadcasting, launching, relaunching and recreating the game or any other content relating to the actor. The court also ordered the creators to immediately remove/block/disable access to the game from the Google Play Store and all other platforms.
According to a report from PTI, the court said: “Looking at the game and its footage, its appearance matches the identity of the plaintiff (Khan) and the hit-and-run case related to the plaintiff.”
The report added that Salman Khan never gave his consent for this match. The order read: “When the plaintiff has not given his consent for the development of the game, which is very similar to his identity and the case against him, his right to privacy is certainly private and his image is also tarnished. “
The PTI report also revealed that the application filed by actor “Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai” claimed that “the game developers intentionally obtained a business advantage by exploiting our client’s personality rights without requesting the consent of our client “.
The court ordered “Selmon Bhai” game developers to file their affidavit regarding Salman’s plea and the case was released for a new hearing on September 20.
