According to firefighters, a fire broke out at the Shejan juice factory at Roopganj in Narayanganj on Thursday at around 5 p.m. It is feared that the fire started from the ground floor of the building and spread quickly due to the presence of chemicals and plastic bottles.
According to ‘Dhaka Tribune’ news, 52 killed in this accident and more than 50 people were burned. Many workers jumped out of the building to escape the horrific fire.
18 firefighters are reportedly hired to extinguish the blaze at the Hashem Foods Limited factory building. According to this, people gathered in front of the building in search of their still missing relatives. The identity of 44 workers among the missing has been confirmed.
Rescued workers and their families said the only exit door to the factory was closed when the fire broke out. He also claimed that there were no proper fire protection measures in the building.
Meanwhile, Abdullah Al Arefin, deputy director of the Narayanganj District Fire Department, said it would take some time to bring the blaze under control. He said: “Until the fire is brought under control, it is not possible to say how much damage was caused in this accident and what the cause of the fire was.” The committee was formed.
