Asus is finally bringing its latest Asus 8z smartphone to Zenfone 8 to India. The brand has confirmed with its social media handle that the smartphone will launch on February 28, which means next week.

The company was supposed to launch the machine in August last year, but that did not happen due to Covid-19 restrictions in many parts of the country.

In an interview with India Today, the head of Asus India Business, Dinesh Sharma, said the company will launch the Zenfone 8 in India after acquiring the equipment and accessories.

It looks like Asus is now ready to launch the device in India. Remembering, the Asus Zenfone 8 made its international appearance in May 2021, next to the Asus Zenfone 8 Flip smartphone. It is unknown at this time what he will do after leaving the post.

Asus suggests that users will experience “incomparable performance” with this “compact” smartphone. It will be available for purchase through Flipkart.

Apart from this, the latest teaser doesn’t reveal much about the upcoming Asus phone, but since this is a global variant of the Asus Zenfone 8, we already know the potential details of the Asus 8z.

If you are not a fan of large smartphone displays, then you may be happy to know that the device has a 5.9-inch Samsung AMOLED screen with full HD + resolution, 1,110nits high brightness and 120Hz refresh rate.

The panel is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus and has HDR 10+ support. The flagship smartphone has a punch-hole display design and two rear camera settings.

Under the hood, there is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset, which enables several 2021 phones. It can be supported up to 16GB of RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage.

The smartphone has a 4,000mAh battery unit, supporting 30W fast charging. Comes with stereo speakers with Dirac HD Sound.

To take pictures, the company has provided two rear camera settings, including the Sony IMX686 64-megapixel main sensor. It is powered by a second 12-megapixel Sony IMX363 sensor.

Previously, one would get a Sony IMX663 12-megapixel camera with autofocus dual phase-detection lenses.

The device has three microphones with OZO Audio Zoom and has audio reduction technology. Both are said to provide a better sound recording experience to users.

In Europe, the Asus Zenfone 8 is priced at EUR 599, which is Rs 53,200 in India. However, the Asus 8z is expected to be less expensive in the Indian market.

The device is expected to compete with smartphones such as the OnePlus 9RT and the recently launched iQOO 9. These phones fall in the price range of Rs 40,000.

Realme is also preparing to launch its Realme GT 2 series on February 28. It also has a Snapdragon 888 processor.
