Income tax return: A new e-filing site to be launched from today; Here are 5 new features

The tax department will launch its new e-filing installation site today. The new website www.incometax.gov.in has released a number of new features that will be integrated into the immediate processing of Income Tax Returns (ITRs) for immediate cash withdrawals.

The new e-filing portal aims to provide taxpayers with a simpler and more modern, seamless experience for taxpayers, the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) said in a statement.
The statement added: “The taxpayers’ kind website has been integrated with the immediate review of Income Tax Returns (ITRs) to disburse instant income to taxpayers”.

The statement further stated that the new tax system will be introduced on June 18, 2021 after the due date for tax avoidance to avoid any disruption to taxpayers.

The mobile app will also be released after the initial launch of the site, so that taxpayers are familiar with the various features.

Here are some of the key features of the new portal

All uploads and pending actions will be displayed on a single taxpayer action dashboard.

Free cost preparation software is available through contact questions to help taxpayers ITRs 1, 4 (online and offline) and ITR 2 (offline) get started; A site for ITRs 3, 5, 6, 7 will be available soon.
Taxpayers will be able to update their details to provide specific income information including income, property, business / occupation that will be used to complete before their ITR. Detailed approval for pre-payment of income, interest, dividends and receipts will be available after TDS and SFT statements are uploaded (deadline June 30, 2021)
