H2OOS may be the name of the integrated OS OnePlus and Oppo

The recent integration of Oppo and OnePlus has led to the effective development of integrated skin based on both Android companies that release ColorOS and OxygenOS.

The full integration of OxygenOS-ColosOS is still ongoing, but once this happens, companies are likely to come up with a new name.

According to Mukul Sharma, this new moniker could be H2OOS. The name seems to have been derived from the combination of chemical markers behind HydrogenOS, a skin found on OnePlus phones in China before being replaced by ColorOS and OxygenOS.

It turns out, however, that it can be very difficult for these rumors to become a reality. It is suggested that although branding is present and real, it happened about 7 years ago.

One thing to keep in mind is that OnePlus can still use the nickname H2O OS. However, this is unlikely to happen! There is no doubt that the OnePlus and Oppo smartphones will be renamed, regardless of whether the integrated OS update is released or not.

Recall, OnePlus had previously stated that the new integrated system will inherit the company’s clean and light shell.

In June 2021, Pete Lau promised that future OnePlus devices would continue to use O oxygenOS.

A few months later, however, he announced the integration of OxygenOS with ColorOS and the development of a new integrated operating system for devices from both companies still Oxygen OS by name, but not the other.

Pete Lau, CEO of OnePlus in a statement recently published on Weibo said the company is currently facing difficulties in delivering ColorOS 12 phones using HydrogenOS through the OTA update. In addition, they should take care of user data.

He also assured users that the migration from OxygenOS to ColorOS will not result in the original reset, thus users will not lose any files and applications while upgrading.

Last year, OnePlus switched to ColorOS on its smartphones in China with the launch of the OnePlus 9 series.

The product has even integrated the OxygenOS codebase with that of ColorOS for international markets. Therefore, the Android 12 software for existing and future devices is nothing but ColorOS.
