Chalet Hotels Limited (CHL) on September 21 said it was the first hospitality company in the world to join Climate Group’s programs related to renewable energy, energy efficiency and electricity flow.
More than 500 companies around the world have joined the Climate Group’s efforts of RE100, EP100 and EV100 connected to renewable energy, energy efficiency and electricity flow, respectively. This includes more than 25 commitments from companies with headquarters in India, the company said in a statement.
The announcement comes during NYC 2021 weather week, one of the world’s largest climate conferences, showcasing the action taken by leading businessmen and governments. More than 500 companies worldwide have joined the efforts of Cl100 Group RE100, EP100 and EV100.
Under three efforts by the Climate Group, Chalet Hotels’ commitment includes the (Renewable Energy) RE100 in which all buildings under the company’s portfolio will move to 100 percent renewable energy by 2031. contributed 51 percent or 13270 MWh of energy consumption to all hotel portfolios, the company said.

Chalet Hotels also said it was committed to double the revenue per unit of electricity used in 2029, given the first year of 2016. All vehicles distributed in the bag-operated tourist area will move to electric vehicles by 2025, the company said.

The CHL hotel platform has seven operational hotels, including a co-operative hotel, located in Mumbai Metropolitan Region, Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Pune. Climate Group is an international non-profit organization with offices in London, New Delhi and New York.
