Weather Update- New Delhi: Rains in parts of Delhi-NCR on Friday brought relief to Delhi residents who have been battling the heat wave for three days. The weather service had predicted thunderstorms and rain in the evening. The minimum temperature in the city on Friday was recorded at 27.2 degrees Celsius, a notch below normal. The weather service says there is no possibility that the monsoon will arrive in the city until July 7. There was a sudden change in the weather in Delhi on Friday evening. Strong winds started to blow and it rained in some areas.

Light to moderate rains accompanied by heavy isolated periods are likely over other parts of northeast India, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, eastern Madhya Pradesh and Vidarbha.
Light rains with rain or moderate rains may occur over the Western Himalayas, parts of Uttar Pradesh and Jharkhand. Light rains are likely over southern Gujarat, Madhya Maharashtra and interior Karnataka. Parts of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, northern Rajasthan and western Uttar Pradesh can receive scattered rains and thunderstorms.

According to data released by the Meteorological Department, in 12 of the state’s 33 districts, daytime temperatures reached 40 degrees Celsius or more. At the same time, the nighttime temperature in six districts was recorded above 30 degrees Celsius. Alwar recorded 27 mm of rain and Dholpur recorded 0.5 mm of rain from the morning until 5 p.m. The department has predicted heatwave conditions in Alwar, Dholpur, Bharatpur, Jhunjhunu, Churu, Sri Ganganagar and Hanumangarh districts over the next 24 hours.
According to the Meteorological Department, the maximum temperature in Churu on Friday was 43.6 degrees Celsius, 43 in Pilani, 42.8 in Sri Ganganagar, 42.7 in Karauli, 42.5 in Dholpur, 40.9 in Sawai Madhopur, 40 , 8 to 40.8 in Bikaner-Phalodi, 40.7 in Alwar, 40.3 in Pali, Jaipur recorded 40.2 and Nagaur 40.1 degrees Celsius. In other places, the maximum temperature was recorded in the range of 39.7 degrees Celsius to 32.8 degrees Celsius.
