UPTET Paper Leak: CM Yogi Says Culprits Will Be Detained Under National Security Act

UPTET Paper Leak: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said those responsible for the Uttar Pradesh Teachers Eligibility Test (UPTET) exam paper leak will be held under National Security Law and the Goonda law. The CM also ordered the examination to be repeated within one month.

“Those who committed this act should know that cases will be registered against them under the Gangster Act and the National Security Act,” he said, PTI reported.

He later said in a tweet that the properties of those involved in the leak would be confiscated by the government.

The UPTET exam was scheduled to take place on Sunday. But the exam was canceled shortly before the start because the questionnaire was leaked, an official said.

The additional director general of law and order, Prashant Kumar, said the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) arrested 23 people last night using technical and other intelligence from various towns in the state.

“A questionnaire was leaked. I gave the order to cancel the exam and stop the whole racket. Instructions were also given to conduct the exam within a month and that no candidate should only be charged additional fees, “Adityanath said during a function in Deoria on Sunday.

Following the cancellation of the exam, CM Yogi Adityanath said orders were given to provide free transportation to candidates on UPSRTC buses based on their admission cards.

According to the report, around 20 lakh candidates had to sit for the exam. The ADG said four people from Lucknow, 13 from Prayagraj, three from Meerut and one from Kaushambi district have been arrested so far.

“A photocopy of the questionnaire was obtained from them, which was shared with the government. It appeared that the copy contained the same set of questions as the official questionnaire,” ADG said.
