UPTET 2021 exam canceled due to suspected paper leak

Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UPTET) 2021 has been cancelled due to alleged paper leak. A total of 12,91,628 candidates were registered to appear in the test in the first shift in the state while 8,73,553 were registered to appear in it in the second shift.

The 2021 Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UPTET) has been canceled due to an alleged paper leak, Prashant Kumar, ADG, Law and Order said on Sunday. The decision to cancel the exam was made a few hours before the start of the exam. The government of Uttar Pradesh will conduct the review in a month, Kumar added.

“The UPTET 2021 exam scheduled to take place today is canceled due to a suspected paper leak. Dozens of suspects detained by STF in the paper leak case, the investigation is open. The UP government will conduct the review again within a month, ”ANI news agency reported citing ADG, Law and Order.

The move comes amid reports of paper leaks in Mathura, Ghaziabad and Bulandshahr before the test begins.

Regarding the cancellation of the exam, Secretary of the Exam Regulatory Authority Sanjay Upadhyay said a new date for the test will be announced soon. He cited “unavoidable reasons” as the cause for the cancellation.

The exam was to take place in two teams from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for the primary level and from 2:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. for the junior level. The primary level test was to take place in 2554 centers across the UP, followed by the upper primary level test in 1754 centers.

A total of 12,91,628 candidates were registered to participate in the state’s first shift test, while 8,73,553 were registered to participate in the second shift.

This review was supposed to take place earlier but has been postponed by the government due to the aggressive second wave of COVID-19.
