UP Exit Poll Results 2022: Seven exit polls predicted a victory for the BJP in Uttar Pradesh, which held seven-phase elections. This means that Yogi Adityanath is likely to be re-elected chief minister for a second term.
The six polls released so far predict that the BJP will win 239 seats and the SP-RLD alliance will win 144 seats. While the vote count will take place on March 10, data from the exit poll will give an estimate of how parties might fare in the outcome of the poll.
Although the polls turned into a cross-party contest, the UP assembly elections are seen as a direct competition between the BJP and the Samajwadi party. While the BJP has teamed up with regional parties like Apna Dal and the Nishad party, the Samajwadi party has forged an alliance with Rashtriya Lok Dal, which has an overwhelming support base in western Uttar Pradesh .
In the 2017 elections in Uttar Pradesh, the BJP-led NDA rode the wave of support for Prime Minister Narendra Modi to land a landslide victory, winning 325 out of 403 seats in the state assembly. The Samajwadi Party’s alliance with the Congress was decimated and won only 47 seats.
