The Xiaomi 12 series that will officially launch on March 15: Here’s all we know

The Xiaomi 12 series is set to launch on March 15. The company has confirmed the global launch of its latest flagship phones via its Twitter handle. At the event, the company is expected to launch three phones, such as Xiaomi 12, Xiaomi 12X and Xiaomi 12 Pro.

It is not yet known if the brand will re-launch the Xiaomi 12 Ultra model. It is not yet clear whether the Xiaomi 12 series will reach India or not. Last year, the brand only launched the Xiaomi 11 Ultra. We will have to wait a few more days to find out more about this.

The Xiaomi 12 global event will be broadcast live through Xiaomi’s official channels, including YouTube, Twitter, Facebook and Xiaomi’s website. Prior to launch, European prices for these devices had already plummeted.

The Xiaomi 12X may be priced at EUR 600-700 (Rs 50,370 to Rs 58,770), while the standard Xiaomi 12 model may cost EUR 899. The Xiaomi 12 Pro may come with the original price of EUR 1,099. Rumor has it that Xiaomi will offer 128GB of storage as a standard model.

It is noteworthy that the Xiaomi 12 series is already available in China and the price starts at CNY 3,699 (approximately Rs 43,400). Price for Xiaomi 12 Pro is set at CNY 4,699 (approximately Rs 55,100). If Xiaomi plans to launch these devices in India, then it is expected to cost the same price range.

Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12 Pro: Details


In China, Xiaomi 12 and its Pro version deliver the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor. The same chip enables the OnePlus 10 Pro and the latest series of the Samsung Galaxy S22.

The standard Xiaomi 12 model has a 4,500mAh battery that supports 67W fast charging and 50W wireless charging. It offers three rear camera settings, including a Sony IMX766 50-megapixel OIS-supported sensor. It is equipped with a 13-megapixel ultra-wide sensor and a large 5-megapixel camera.

The Xiaomi 12 Pro, on the other hand, features a larger battery. It packs a 4,600mAh unit that supports 120W wireless charging. At the back, there are three cameras, including a Sony IMX707 wide angle sensor with a 50-megapixel core with OIS support.

It is supported by a 50-megapixel long-range sensor and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide shooter. Both devices have a 32-megapixel selfie camera on the front.
