The iPhone 14 may be the only eSIM model of choice without the SIM card tray

The upcoming iPhone 14 will bring major changes, according to insiders and industry experts. One of the most reliable providers earlier said Apple had asked large companies in the US to arrange for the launch of eSIM phones only in September this year.

The eSIM phone only means it will not support portable SIM cards and mobile networks will work with embedded SIM cards.

Now, the analyst said the only eSIM model in the iPhone 14 series would be optional, meaning users would have a choice between portable SIM and eSIM cards for the next flagship iPhone.

GlobalData Analyst Emma Mohr-McClune predicted that Apple would not switch to eSIM iPhones only at once.

But we can still try to make a change with only the eSIM model that will be available to the people who want it, which means it will be selected.

These eSIM-only versions of the iPhone 14 will be available in Apple stores, with support from American carriers for both eSIM and Nano-SIM technologies.

We do not believe that Apple will take the ‘big explosion’ — to remove existing systems and transfer all users to eSIMs — but instead introduce the only exception of eSIM for its upcoming new model — keeping the eSIM-plus- dual-SIM model a huge market slot and its key channel, “Mohr-McClune said in a blog post.

Many carriers around the world have not yet provided an eSIM location, and without international acceptance, Apple may feel that there is a high risk of launching an iPhone with eSIM technology only.

Currently, about 100 carriers worldwide support eSIM technology and there are many mobile companies planning to launch their eSIM networks.

In India, all major network companies, such as Airtel, Reliance Jio, and Vi, support eSIM technology, but acceptance is not high because there are a number of compatible devices.

ESIM technology, though in the future, is not easy because once the SIM card embedded in the phone is mapped to a network company, you cannot change the numbers.

You need to uninstall the mobile app on the iPhone to change the network. With the availability of a physical SIM card slot, things are not annoying, but with the eSIM iPhone only, the distraction will increase, especially for people who like to change their mobile phone numbers.

If we go by what the analyst says, people will have the option of an iPhone 14 model that will work like the iPhone 13 for mobile networks, where you can use a Nano-SIM or eSIM card.
