The Asus 8z 5G smartphone was introduced in India and falls in the range of Rs 40,000. It will appear to compete with popular phones like the OnePlus 9RT and iQOO 9, among others.
The Asus 8z, launched worldwide in May 2021, was supposed to start appearing in India last year, but the launch was delayed due to covid-related problems.
The new Asus 8z comes with last year’s Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset, rather than the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC that powers the 2022 flag.
Provides integrated screen, 30W fast charging support, and 64-megapixel dual rear camera setup. The company suggests that its latest device will provide users with “incomparable performance” and good photography experience.
Asus 8z: Price in India, sales and other details
The company has introduced only one device variant. The Asus 8z has a value of Rs 42,999, which is for the 8GB RAM + 128G storage model.
It did not announce the 16GB RAM + 256GB model available in the global market. The device will go on sale March 7 at 12:00 PM and will be on sale via Flipkart.
Asus 8z: Specifications, features
The newly launched Asus 8z has a small area and has a 4.92-inch AMOLED display, which works with Full HD + resolution.
The panel has HDR 10+ support and a 120Hz refresh rate for smooth scrolling and playback information. The screen is also protected by the latest Corning Gorilla Glass Victus.
As mentioned above, there is a Snapdragon 888 SoC under the hood, which is powerful enough to handle games that require graphics.
It is supported by 8GB of RAM and 128GB of UFS 3.1 storage. The device is running on Android 11, instead of the latest Android 12 OS update.
In terms of optics, you get only two cameras on the back of the phone. The setup includes a Sony IMX686 64-megapixel sensor, a Sony IMX363 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera. On the front is a 12-megapixel camera for your photos and videos.
Asus has added a 4,000mAh integrated battery inside the Asus 8z smartphone. There is also a 30W fast charger support as well.
It has Dirac HD audio stereo speakers, IP68 rating for dust and water resistance. It has a 3.5mm headphone jack too. The 5G smartphone has Wi-Fi 6E and NFC support.
