Terrorists traveled via Oman, Iran, trained in Karachi by the Pak army for ‘maximum impact’

The six terrorists, including two Pakistan-trained terror operatives, arrested on Tuesday were trained in a farmhouse on the outskirts of Karachi by Pakistan army personnel and were taught “how to cause maximum damage”. They were made to travel to Pakistan via two other countries.

The group was first forced to travel to Muscat, the port capital of Oman, on a valid visa where they were quarantined for 10 days. After that, they were sent to Iran by sea. From Iran, they went to Karachi, using a boat.

After reaching Karachi, they stayed in a farmhouse on the outskirts of town. Three people from the Pakistani army trained them in bomb-making and map reading. They also talked to them about how to have maximum impact by targeting densely populated areas.

The Delhi police special cell, as well as the Uttar Pradesh ATS, had dismantled this terrorist module. Police further said underworld brother Don Dawood Ibrahim, Anees, was part of the team, and funding was provided by the Hawala Network.

Those arrested were identified as – Jaan Mohammad Shaikh (47) from Maharashtra, Osama (22) from Delhi, Moolchand (47) from Rae Bareilly from Uttar Pradesh, Zeeshan Qamar (28) from Allahabad, Mohd Abu Bakar ( 23 years old) from Behraich and Mohd Amir Javed (31 years old) from Lucknow.

Police said the arrests were made during raids on various locations in Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Delhi, and Rajasthan. Those arrested were scouting towns ahead of the next holiday season, police said, adding: “The Navarati and Ram Leela rallies were their targets.”

“Of the six who were arrested, two (Osama and Zeeshan) were trained in Pakistan and entered India this year alone. We formed a special team when we received information about these people. The first arrest was in Maharashtra, then two in Delhi, after which we linked up with UP ATS to arrest three from there, ”Neeraj Thakur, Delhi Special CP (Special Cell) told a conference. Press.

Police also recovered from their possession weapons, ammunition, explosives, and special pistols that were believed to be used in targeted assassinations.
