Earlier, four Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists were killed in an encounter with security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Shopian district on Thursday, while three members of the army died in an accident of the road as they drove to the meeting site. A police official said that after receiving information about the presence of terrorists in Budigam in the Zainapora area of ​​Shopian, security forces launched a cordon and search operation.

During the search operation, the terrorists opened fire on them and an encounter broke out. The official said four terrorists were killed during the encounter. The officer identified the slain terrorists as Aqib Farooq Thokar and Waseem Ahmed Thokar, residents of Hefkhuri in Zainapora, and Farooq Ahmed Bhat and Shokeen Ahmed Mir, residents of Sugan.

Kashmir Police Inspector General Vijay Kumar said the terrorists killed were members of the banned Lashkar-e-Taiba group. He tweeted: “The Lashkar terrorists killed in today’s encounter were active in Shopian and nearby areas of Pulwama. He was involved in six terrorist incidents, including attacks on out-of-state workers. The search is ongoing for his other accomplices, including Aijaz de Pulwama. and they will soon be caught.
