T20 WC: Umpire Aleem Dar’s ‘Great Reflexes’ Save Him From Getting Hit Twice – WATCH

T20 WC: Who would imagine looking right in the eye at a powerful forehand from Kieron Pollard, then dodging it to save his head? Well, if you are a referee, not only can you imagine it, but you can actually be seen dodging a powerful drive by a powerful batsman from the Windies.

Few people would have the reflex not to get hit by a powerful push from Pollard. Thankfully, referee Aleem Dar is not one of those “many” as he leaned over brazenly enough to be saved by a tracer-like shot. The shot went straight to van der Dussen who took a brave low grip. Pollard was caught but the joy of taking his catch was so overwhelming that van der Dussen threw the ball straight at the Pakistani referee. No prize for guessing that Aleem Dar was saved in this case as well, as he ducked just as the ball was thrown at him.

This incident took place during the T20 WC match between the West Indies and South Africa.

Take a look at the video to see what happened:

“Well done Aleem,” said the commentator Pommie Mbangwa as the umpire managed to get out of both situations safely.

Netizens lauded the umpire’s reflexes:
