The students decided to step up their virtual event on Thursday, December 16 on convocation day using the hashtag for the AKTU online exam.

The students also claimed that only a few months ago the AKTU held online exams. They alleged that in the wake of Omicron and the growing number of Covid cases, AKTU’s decision to hold an offline review was unfortunate.

Meanwhile, the 19th convocation of Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University will be held on Thursday under the chairmanship of the Governor and Chancellor of Anandiben Patel University.

Padma Shri Prof SG Dhande will be the main guest and receive an honorary degree from DSC. Also, diplomas will be awarded to 53,226 students in the service. At the same time, gold, silver and bronze medals will be awarded to 92 deserving students.

For the first time, medals will be awarded in postgraduate courses. The 92 medals include 1 Chancellor’s Gold Medal, 1 Smt. Kamal Rani Commemorative Medal, 16 gold, 17 silver, 18 bronze in undergraduate courses; 2 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze medals in master’s courses. In addition, there are 12 gold, 7 silver and 7 bronze in government institutes and 5 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze in master’s courses.

Rashi Mathur from the Pranveer Singh Institute of Technology, Kanpur, will receive the Chancellor’s Gold Medal.

Also, Smt. The Kamal Rani Memorial Medal will be presented to Seelu Gautam, a student at the SR Institute of Management and Technology, Lucknow.

When convened, 91 academics will be awarded a doctorate. A DSC Diploma will also be awarded to Dr Saurabh Gupta, Co-Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India.
