Students protest against exams, NCOC to hold a meeting on June 29 to discuss key issues

ISLAMABAD: Federal Planning Minister Asad Umar will chair a National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) meeting on June 29 to discuss the future conduct of physical exams.

According to sources, the meeting will discuss summer vacation, students protest physical exams and student promotion.

The meeting will bring together Federal Minister of Education Shafqat Mahmood and all Provincial Ministers of Education.

Previously, a dozen protesters were arrested as many motorcycles were confiscated by police to disperse students staging a protest demanding online exams in Faizabad. They demanded that final exams take place online.

Earlier this month, Federal Education Minister Shafqat Mahmood announced that matrix and intermediate exams would begin after July 10 across the country.

Informing the media of the decisions taken at the Interprovincial Conference of Ministers of Education (IPEMC), the Minister of Education once again clarified that no student will be promoted to the next class without an exam this year.

“Exams for pupils in class 9 and 10 would only be held for math and elective subjects this year,” he said and added that exams for pupils in class 11 and 12 would be held. only for the subjects of your choice.

While giving details of the O-level exams, Shafqat said Cambridge has decided to take the O-level exams after July 26.
