Started as a victory festival in the states. Election commission stern warning

The Election Commission has urged all states and union territories to ensure that no victory procession is taken out by political parties led by the winners indicated in the five states. The Kolkata video featured celebrations by Trinamool supporters in the pockets of Kolkata and some rural areas.
Hundreds of masked supporters, faces wrapped in green, were seen waving flags outside the party office – a dangerous situation in a state where covid is in danger of getting out of control. A similar celebration was seen in the countryside.

There was also a celebration by DMK supporters in Tamil Nadu – where the party is set to return to power after a decade.
In view of this situation by media reports, in its letter to the Chief Secretaries of all states and union territories, the Commission has stated that such activities should be “immediately banned”.

The Commission stated in its notice, “The Commission viewed it very seriously and re-directed that all necessary actions should be taken to ensure strict compliance with its instructions.
The Commission has further asked that “the responsible SHO and other officers should be placed under immediate suspension and criminal / disciplinary action should be initiated against them”.

Concern has been expressed that political rallies could become a Kovid super spreader event since the announcement of elections in five states. The situation was particularly important in Bengal where the Commission announced an unprecedented, large-scale, eight-phase election.

The Madras High Court has strongly criticized the Commission’s handling of elections in five states. On Monday, the court said the Election Commission was “alone responsible for the second wave of covid”. The judges said, “Your officers probably should have been booked on the charges.”

The wife of a Trinamool Congress candidate, who died Kovid, has filed a case against the Election Commission. Kajal Sinha, the party’s candidate from Kharada, died on 25 April. His wife Nandita Sinha has now accused Deputy Election Commissioner Sudeep Jain and other officials of “reckless and reckless” behavior, which led to the death of the husband and several other candidates.
