SSC postponed SSC CHSL 2020 Exams, New Date to be announced further

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has postponed the Combined Higher Secondary Level (CHSL) tier-I 2020 exams. It was to be held from April 12 to May 22 at various sessions, but the exams were postponed from April 20. The postponement was announced due to growing COVID-19 cases across the country. Revised trial dates, however, are not yet known. The commission said it would issue renewed dates after the state was fit to hold the exams.

The SSC holds CHSL to fill the vacancies of lower divisional clerk or junior secretariat assistant, postal assistant, sorting assistant, data entry operators who submit details of various departments or departments or offices of the Government of India.

To qualify for these, candidates must have a tier-I, an explanatory paper, a competency test, or a type test. Only those who cancel the tier-I test will qualify for the next round. An online computer-based test consists of a type of objective, multiple choice questions. For every wrong answer, students lose 0.50 marks and for every correct answer, they are given two marks. Tier-II paper will be a descriptive paper of 100 marks in ‘pen and paper’ mode. Descriptive paper time will be one hour.

Applicants will be selected from the Tier-II test list on the basis of their performance in the tier-I test. Standard nominee ratings will be used to determine eligibility and final selection. The final selection and allocation of departments or departments or offices for candidates qualified for Document Verification will be based on their performance in the I + tier-II team tests and the preference of vacancies or departments certified by the candidate at the time of document verification.
