Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Hyderabad has announced Special Channel of Admission (SPEC) for its two B.Tech programs. This channel is intended to identify students with unusual talents or backgrounds. Interested and eligible candidates may apply for 10 seats each in two B.Tech programs namely – Information and Communication Engineering (ECE) and Computer Science and Engineering (CSE). The application site will remain active till May 10.
Candidates are eligible if they have passed grade 12th or equivalent in July 2021 in mathematics, physics, and chemistry and are eligible for the UDAAN CBSE program or have studied at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) for at least the past two years (11th and 12th) or currently enroll in the fourth Semester of the integrated, six-year, 12th + B.Tech program offered after 10th grade
Steps to apply:
Step 1: Visit the official IIIT Hyderabad website – www.iiit.ac.in/
Step 2: On the homepage, slide to ‘SPEC 2021 Admission Portal Now Open’ and click on ‘Click for more details’ under it
Step 3: Click on ‘App site open’
Step 4: Register with the required details. Create a password for future login
Step 5; Complete the required information and upload the documents to the application form
Step 6: Pay the application fee of Rs 500 and download the application form for future use.
Applicants must appear for the computerized entrance examination to be conducted by IIIT Hyderabad on June 2. The examination will be subject to specialization and the syllabus will be based on levels 11 and 12 for physics, maths, chemistry (CBSE and the national syllabus).
Candidates who clear this test will have to give an interview for admission. The decision on the final admission depends on the performance in the interview.
