Sonos Ray Budget Audio Bar With Dolby Digital Support Launched: Details

Sonos Ray was unveiled on Thursday as the latest offering from the American audio product. Offered with two color options, the new audio bar comes with touch controls and support for Apple AirPlay 2.

Compared to other offers from the product, Sonos Ray can be considered as part of the entry level audio category. It packs two tweets and four class-d digital amplifiers to produce high frequency waves.

Sonos Ray can be paired with a TV or portable computer with a viewing cable and provides Dolby Digital audio support. It is compatible with the Sonos app which allows users to adjust Sonos Ray bass directly to their mobile phones.

Price of Sonos Ray, availability


The new Sono’s Ray comes with a price tag of $ 279 (approximately Rs. 21,600) in the US. The audio bar comes with Black and White color options and is currently available for pre-booking in the US via the company’s website, with its delivery from June 7th.

Details about the launch of Sonos Ray in Indian and other global markets have not yet been announced.

The new audio bar from Sonos has two mid-woofers, four class-d digital amplifiers and two tweets to ensure bass and create high-frequency response.

Sono’s Ray has touch controls on the body to play, pause, adjust volume, skip, and play again. It is powered by a quad-core processor with a clock speed of 2.4GHz. In addition, the LED sports soundbar for connectivity indicators and a quiet environment.

The Sonos Ray audio bar can be connected to the Sonos app available on the Google Play Store or Apple App Store to adjust bass, treble, and audio and use other services.

It provides Wi-Fi 802.11 / b / g / n connectivity and allows users to stream audio from platforms such as Spotify Connect, and Amazon Music among others. It can be connected to TVs or PCs with a built-in watch cable.

Apple users can use AirPlay 2 on Sonos Ray to use it with iPhone, iPad, or Mac via Wi-Fi. In addition, it can work with the TV remote control via its IR receiver.

Sono’s Ray is capable of recording Stereo PCM, Dolby Digital v5.1 and DTS Digital Surround. Trueplay tuning feature for the company that supports audio-enhancing device based on the environment with the help of an iOS device microphone.

In addition, it supports a nocturnal audio feature that reduces noise intensity while increasing the volume of silent sounds. Users can collect the device and other Sono’s speakers to play multiple rooms. The audio bar measures 71x559x95mm and weighs 1.95 kilograms.
