Shilpa Shetty‘s husband Raj Kundra has been arrested by Mumbai police as a “key conspirator” in a pornography-related case.
Mumbai Police Commissioner Hemant Nagrale confirmed the arrest in a statement that read: “There was a case registered with the Crime Branch Mumbai in February 2021 regarding the creation of pornographic films and their posting through certain apps. We arrested Mr. Raj Kundra in this matter on 7/19/21 as he appears to be the main conspirator in this. “
He also went on to say, “We have sufficient evidence on this. The investigation is ongoing.”
Kundra has been criticized for cheating IPC sections, engaging in obscene acts in public places, and publicly displaying or circulating obscene books or literature and under the Information Technology Act.
Raj Kundra will spend the night in the custody of the Crime Branch in Mumbai. It will be placed in the office of the real estate unit.
Cops filed two FIRs and apprehended nine people last week, according to a report, for allegedly “forcing” actors to shoot nude scenes for pornographic films. The report further states that these films were shown/shown on paid mobile applications.
Apparently, Poonam Pandey has filed a lawsuit against Raj Kundra and his associates in the Bombay High Court. The model-actress said Kundra and her associates were illegally using its content and added that the contract between them had been terminated.
Meanwhile, Kundra and her partner, Saurabh Kushwah have denied Pandey’s claims and said they had not received any notifications so far.
Raj Kundra will be produced in CMM Court, also known as Killa Court, in the second half of the day. On Tuesday morning, the Mumbai Criminal Police made another arrest in the case. According to ANI, a certain Ryan Tharp from the Nerul region has been arrested in connection with the investigation into the production of pornography.
